Early Years Practitioner
Grade 4-£24258-£26520pa
The primary purpose of this role is to work as part of the Children’s Centre team alongside colleagues within social care and other agencies and ensure the effective delivery of child focused services and activities for families with children.
The key objectives are to:
Provide safe, high quality crèche facilities for families accessing the Children’s Centre services.
Provide the service to children aged 0-13 and their families.
Support families by improving family relationships, breaking negative cycles and promoting positive and healthy outcomes for children.
Ensure safeguarding at all times.
Carry out advocacy on behalf of young people in care ensuring that their voice is heard and their wishes and feelings taken into account.
Help assist in the delivery of the book start programme, ensuring books are distributed to a range of settings
Experience
Experience of developing and delivering effective provision for young children/families in either the public or voluntary sector.
Experience of effective partnership or cross sector, multi–agency work.
Experience of working with families on practical parenting tasks.
Qualifications
Recognised Level II Childcare Qualification.
Recognised Level III Childcare Qualification.
2 years’ minimum experience working with young children and families in the community.
A qualification in First Aid or the willingness to train and acquire the qualification.
A qualification in Basic Food Hygiene or the willingness to train and acquire the qualification
